A Magical Evening at Lake City Books

On October 2nd, I had the pleasure of leading a two-hour Intro to Tarot Workshop at the beautiful Lake City Books downtown.

If you haven’t been into Lake City Books yet, it truly feels like an oasis of calm in the heart of our wonderful city. The space is welcoming, the selection is thoughtful, and the staff radiates the kind of warmth, passion, and knowledge that make independent bookstores such treasures. What I love most, though, is their deep commitment to community and connection—you can feel it in everything they do.

Our two hours together flew by. During the first half of the workshop, we explored the structure of the tarot deck—how the cards work together to tell a story—and how to set the guidebooks aside and begin reading more intuitively and confidently. Then we spent the second hour practicing: reading for ourselves, for objects (thank you to my kids for lending me their stuffed animals!), and for each other.

The energy in the room was warm, curious, and open—exactly what tarot is all about. I left feeling deeply grateful for everyone who joined and the conversations we shared.

We’re already talking about offering another session in early 2026, so if you’re curious about tarot or simply want a creative, reflective way to connect with yourself and others, keep an eye out for the next opportunity. It’s a wonderful way to learn, explore, and play with the cards in a supportive setting.
